Our Partners

attracting the world's best tennis talents

The Justine Henin Academy and St. John’s International School are partners in The School for Pro Tennis, aimed at attracting the world’s best tennis talents age 11 and over to Belgium. It combines the high level academic programmes of St. John’s International School with the Justine Henin Academy programme, renowned for turning young tennis talents into professional players.

“The high quality education and boarding programme offered at St. John’s provide the world’s best tennis talents with a unique combination aimed at reaching their full potential in tennis and academics,” says Justine Henin, tennis legend and successful coach of young talent. “Players can pursue a professional tennis career, while keeping their options open to attend top universities around the world.”

Athletes reside in the boarding house at St. John’s and follow personalised academic plans, with individual teaching support, to successfully accommodate tournaments and intense practice schedules alongside the academic requirements.

“We are honored and excited to extend our partnership with the Justine Henin Academy on this programme, that will create a world class opportunity for tennis talent,” according to Elaine Purves, Head of School at St. John’s International School. “Our holistic approach and focus on each student as a unique individual ensures the each of these tennis talents will have the emotional, physical and academic support they need to combine their dream of becoming a professional tennis player with an International Baccalaureate (IB) education.”

The Justine Henin Academy welcomes students who have a serious passion for personal development and sports. Most of the Justine Henin Academy players are aged 12 to 18. A team consisting of a fitness coach, trainer and tennis coaches are working together, with individualised programs for each student. The Academy also organises travel tours with chaperoning coaches around the world to play international tournaments (Tennis Europe 14, Tennis Europe 16, ITF Juniors). Since 2009, players from the Justine Henin Academy have won 4 Single Junior Grand Slam titles, reached 3 finales Single Junior Grand Slam, won 6 Double Junior titles, reached the place of No. 1 junior in the world and World Junior Champion.
