A Few Words
From Director of Sport

Welcome to the St. John’s Athletic Department - home of the Lions!

The purpose of sports at St. John’s International School, both within the curriculum as well as after school, is to promote the physical, mental, moral, and emotional wellbeing of the student-athlete. We encourage a winning spirit without losing sight of the ideals of athletic competition. Our athletes travel extensively around Europe and St. John’s families host hundreds of visiting athletes each year. In this way, our students and their families have the opportunity to participate in a fun and rewarding programme supporting the development of our school values; respect, integrity and companionship.

I encourage you to visit our wonderful sports facilities. My office door is always open to you, and I will be more than delighted to answer any questions you may have.

COMPETITIVE SPORTS: Middle and High School and after school sports activities for Primary School

Sport is a really important element of a St John’s education, both within the curriculum and outside. We want our students to develop their skills, athleticism, expertise and fitness at every age and to see sport and physical activity as a non-negotiable part of their lives. This enjoyment of sport and love of being active is nurtured by our excellent coaches.

Students enjoy their sport in PE lessons, team training, through pre and after school activities and during play and free time. The range of sports on offer is purposefully diverse to suit those who prefer individual sport and others who prefer to participate as part of a team.
